We Just Can’t Win

We went to the vet yesterday to get Mary some more of her special food (that she dislikes to much). Whenever we are there, we always check for new stock in toys or treats. Mary pretty much has everything. Problem with her is that buying her anything new is always a touch and go situation. Sometimes she likes her toy/treats, at other times, she really could not be bothered. But nevertheless, we always try simply because we never know.

Yesterday we bought her a pet massager. Mary loves to be massaged and scratched, and this little hand held device vibrates as you massage her. It did not make much of a noise, so we thought it would be relatively safe (although my fiancee did suspect it MIGHT frighten her).

Oh boy. She did NOT like it AT ALL. I tried it on her once as she was on my lap, she gave the thing one look (pupils dilated), JUMPED off my lap and refused to sit anywhere near us for the rest of the evening. We were VERY unpopular.

One of these days I am going to have to make a plan to donate all her unwanted toys to those less fortunate.

Love forces us to do these strange things like buy the latest most attractive toy in the hope it will be snatched by our beloved fur companions with unrestrained delight. Done this myself. Far too often. But I continue trying.
They know. Mary knows. It’s the thought and all that…
These pics of Queen Mary are exquisite. She is beautiful.
